Appreciation of mining, then and now

During the summer in Germany I visited a lignite coal mine, an energy museum, and a spa. The impressions formed a thought-provoking experience that changed my appreciation of mining and the environmental impact of the operation of semiconductors in the cloud. I created a YouTube video on the Appreciation of Mining to describe this experience that ultimately connected my work as a circuit designer at the nanometer level with the carbon emissions of a giant lignite coal mine pit.
